Project Manager - Florida

What You Will Do:
We have a remote work opportunity for a Project Manager living in the Central Florida area to join our growing Florida team. This role would primarily focus on providing technical and project management leadership on varied project scales. Project manager is expected to have a strong knowledge of structural engineering design principles in order to manage project budget, schedule, and team resources. Typical projects would range from existing building expansions/modifications to +800,000SF new building designs. Strong opportunities for advancement with growing 50+ year structural engineering firm.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate information across all disciplines to ensure project deliverables are compliant with client expectations and established organizational quality standard
- Provide guidance/oversight to drafting staff to model and detail contract drawings (LOD 300).
- Provide guidance/oversight to engineering staff to ensure all tasks are completed, coordinated with other design trades, and meet code requirements and client/project standards.
- Manage overall project budget and schedule, to ensure project delivery meets client expectations.
- Manage existing client relationships, including daily project communications
- Lead client meetings and presentations; serve as the firm’s project liaison in architect and contractor meetings
- Assist department manager and marketing team with business development related tasks which include engaging with potential clients to expand business relationships and securing new work from existing clients in various markets
- Develop written proposals and fee structure for new projects and additional services for existing projects.
- Provide quality control review to ensure submittals meet project delivery standards set based on internal requirements and client/project standards.
- Provide Construction Administration support; including shop drawing review, RFI response, and site visits.
- Provide engineering or project management assistance for projects outside of target specialty or for other B&P offices as necessary.
What We Are Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in the building structural design industry
- Active Professional Engineer license
- Experience in Revit.
- Experience with industry standard software, including but not limited to Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, RISA, EnerCalc, Adapt, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of commercial building code and applicable structural design code material references.
- Master of Science in Structural Engineering preferred
- Active member of professional and technical societies preferred.
- Previous project management / client management experience is a plus
Skills and Competencies:
- Thorough understanding of building design and construction, most specifically detailing of structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, etc.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are required
- Ability to identify applicable codes in project-specific jurisdictions and apply to the project.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines, and bring each to successful completion
