Atrium Health’s Levine Cancer Institute opened the newest addition to the world-renowned cancer institute: Levine Cancer Institute II (LCI II). The new 260,000 square-foot, seven story expansion is an extension of the research and academic headquarters in Charlotte. Crews broke ground on the $125 million project in December 2016. The facility houses vascular and blood drawing services, apheresis technology, thoracic oncology, a 60-bay infusion center and an on-site pharmacy. More than 30,000 square feet on the second floor is dedicated to oncology and hematology research for developing clinical trials.
Bennett & Pless teamed with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting to provide the structural design. Rogers Builders was the general contractor.
